| Opening
Key Note Speaker Dr. Timothy D. Kanold obtained his B.S. in Education with a major in Mathematics from Illinois State University in 1973. He received a Master’s Degree in Mathematics from Illinois State University in 1980, completed a certificate of advanced study in educational administration from the University of Illinois in 1986. He received his Ph.D. from Loyola University, Chicago, in Educational Leadership and Counseling Psychology in 2002. Tim is co-author of 27 mathematics textbooks grades 6 – 12. He continues to write and present for the National Council Teachers of Mathematics, the national Council of Supervisors of Mathematics, AASA, ASCD, NASSP and a wide variety of state level leadership organizations including Arizona, California, Colorado, North Carolina, Wisconsin, Illinois, Florida, New York and Texas. Dr. Kanold is the 1982 recipient of the Presidential Award for Excellence in Mathematics and Science Teaching. He currently serves on the Board of Directors for the National Council Supervisors of Mathematics, is the Lead writer for NCTM’s Evaluation Standards, is the Lead Developer for NCSM’s new Leadership Academy for Leadership of a Professional Learning Community and has served as a primary consultant for Learning Community Development in the Phoenix, Rochester, San Antonio, Chicago and Columbia school districts. He is also the developer and presenter for New Dimensions in Leadership, a training program for future school administrators. Closing Key Note Speaker Bea Moore-Harris is an
outstanding teacher and an excellent presenter. She has devoted
her career to helping all students find success in mathematics. In
demand as a speaker at state and national conferences, she has
provided teachers across the country with practical strategies for teaching
struggling students. She is a former member of the Board of Directors
for the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics and is the
co-author of Algebra I, Algebra II, and Mathematics Applications and
Connections Courses 1, 2 and 3. She is the author of Providing the
READING and WRITING SKILLS Essential to Meeting HIGH MATHEMATICS STANDARDS
(Grades 6-12). |
